

Joseph (Joe) J. Duffy, born on September 13, 1935 in Philadelphia, PA, died suddenly on February 13, 2015. He has lived in Colorado Springs, Colorado since 1997. Joe served in the U.S. Air Force from 1955 to 1976, and during that time he was awarded a Bronze Star, four (4) Air Force Commendation Medals, and other numerous awards. He was honored in 2010 by being inducted into the Air Force Cyberspace Operations Hall of Fame (formerly called the Air Force Communications /Information Hall of Fame). After his Air Force service, Joe joined the U.S. Department of State where he served with distinction until a second retirement in 1997. He received numerous awards from the Department of State, including Superior Performance and Meritorious Service awards. Joe served in a number of high level/volume posts, such as Moscow, Beijing, Berlin, Bonn and Sidney. Joe is survived by his wife Isabel; his twin brother, James; sister Delores, and a large extended family and many friends. Rosary will begin at 10:30 am with the Mass of the Christian Burial to follow at
the Holy Apostles Catholic Church, 4925 N. Carefree Circle, Colorado Springs, CO on Thursday, February 19, 2015 at 11:00 AM. In Lieu of flowers, Joe's wife Isabel requests that contributions/donations be made to the "AF Communicators & Air Traffic Controllers Association", at www.afcommatc.org. This Association was dear to Joe's heart.
