

Joshua Thomas Anderson, 48, of Omaha, Nebraska and Colorado Springs, Colorado passed away June 28, 2023. His brother James and niece Tiffany were with him at the time of death. Josh courageously fought liver disease until the end. Josh was born in Lansdale, Pennsylvania April 17, 1975 and later he and James were adopted by Doug and Diana Anderson.
Josh graduated from Evangelical Christian Academy in Colorado Springs in 1993. While in high school he was a Point of Light recipient from President George HW Bush, for demonstrating integrity, empathy, respect, optimism, and believing in the power of the human spirit to create positive change. He played trumpet while at ECA. He played Junior Olympic volleyball while in high school and enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching the Denver Broncos football team. Joshua was active in Grace Episcopal Church youth group. He was an acolyte and member of the children’s choir.
Josh attended Black Hawk College in Moline, Illinois where he received his CNA certificate. He worked in hospice care for many years. He met the love of his life, Keith Juhl while attending classes at Pikes Peak Community College. They were together 17 years before marrying in Iowa on July 10, 2014.
Josh loved to travel, lately enjoying trips to Tampa, Florida, Mankato, Minnesota and Southern Delaware. He particularly enjoyed the wild horses at Chincoteague Island. Joshua lived for hunting. He would enjoy the trips to Winner South Dakota with his father and other hunting companions and was a fabulous shot. Josh loved dogs and took courses in dog training at Vatterott Veterinary Tech School. Joshua was nick named Butterfly by his friends. He loved to cook and his specialty was Philly cheese-steak. He was a kind and loving man. He had an enormous heart, was funny, compassionate and strong. He would fight for fairness and justice and always took the side of the underdog.
Josh is survived by his loving family who carry his heart in their hearts, and with the sure and certain hope of the resurrection know that Josh is in a place of green pasture, a place of rest, where there is no grief, sorrow or mourning, where sickness, sorrow, and sighing have fled away.
He is proceeded in passing by husband Keith Juhl and father Douglas Anderson.
Services will be held early fall.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Grace and St. Stephens Episcopal Church and St. Raphael’s Episcopal Church, Colorado Springs, Colorado.
