Judith Ann Groskopf, 72, passed away on February 23, 2018 in her home surrounded by her family after a five year heroic struggle with cancer. She was a resident of Colorado Springs for 32 years.
Judy was born on April 12, 1945 in Burbank, California to Elmer Decker & Carroll (Spitzer) Decker. She attended Pierce College in Canoga Park, California for several years prior to marrying Paul V. Groskopf on February 4, 1967. She traveled all over the world as an Army Wife raising two children until settling down in Colorado Springs in June, 1986. Judy worked for over 27 years at Air Academy High School on the Air Force Academy as an Attendance Counselor until she retired in the summer of 2013.
Judy enjoyed spending time with her three grandchildren who adored her completely. Her loving, kind and caring nature was surpassed only by the lasting impact it had on those who knew her.
Judy is survived by her husband Paul V. Groskopf, her sons Paul D. Groskopf and LTC Jeffrey C. Groskopf, her sister, Joan Bowser, her brother, James Decker and her grandchildren Zachary, Chandler and Matthew.
A memorial service will be held at Swan-Law Funeral Home at 501 N. Cascade Ave. Colorado Springs, Colorado on Monday, March 12th at 9am. A reception will immediately follow the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
