Ken was born on June 15, 1945, in Chauncey, Georgia, to the late Nathan G. Cook and Lula Mae (Reaves) Cook. The son of a sharecropper, he grew up with strong values of hard work, faith, and perseverance that shaped the man he became.
After graduating from Dodge County High School, Ken proudly joined the United States Air Force, beginning a distinguished 20-year military career that took him around the world, including a tour during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he continued his dedication to his country as a Civil Service employee at Robins Air Force Base, where he worked for another 20 years before retiring.
Ken was married to the love of his life, Norma Cook, for 59 wonderful years. Together they built a life centered on love, laughter, and family. His greatest joy came from spending time with those he loved most—his wife, daughter, grandchildren, and great-granddaughter.
Ken was a devout Christian whose faith guided every aspect of his life. He lived each day with integrity, humility, and compassion, while treating others with kindness and respect. His steadfast faith and quiet strength were an inspiration to everyone who knew him.
He was also a lifelong fan of the Georgia Bulldogs and could always be found cheering them on every Saturday. Few things made him happier than watching his Dawgs play.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Nathan and Lula Mae Cook; his sisters, Ruby Jean Smith and Juanita White; and his brothers, Nathan Cook, Donald Cook, Freddie Cook, and Herman Cook. He is survived by his younger brother, Ricky Cook of Eastman, Georgia.
Ken will be remembered for his unwavering love of his family, his lifelong devotion to his country, and his kind and gentle spirit. His legacy lives on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
