Larry William Wiedeman was born July 13, 1955 in Council Bluffs, IA to William C. and Ruby Wiedeman.
His family later moved to Columbus, NE where he was raised and attended St. Bonaventure Catholic
School. In the winter of 1969 the family moved to Lake Park, MN where Larry graduated from Lake Park
High School. Larry attended college at NDSU in Fargo, ND and later graduated from the University of
Minnesota in Minneapolis with a Masters in Computer Science.
Larry moved to Colorado Springs in 1985 and began his insurance software career with The Equitable of
Colorado. This position would lead to an opportunity with M Financial Group, a premier insurance
distribution firm based in Portland, OR. This endeavor would provide the contacts and eventually become
the catalyst for Larry to start his own insurance software company. Larry founded Insurance Technologies
in 1995 and was very proud of the organization it became, employing over 150 people in Colorado Springs
and recognized as one of the premier insurance software providers in the United States.
In 2009 Larry branched out to create Wiedeman Real Estate Holdings. He sold his interest in Insurance
Technologies in 2014 and focused full time on his real estate interests restoring many historic properties
in the downtown corridor. Larry loved to read, listen to music, watch movies, was a student of history
and enjoyed many weekends with his friends at the lake. He had many interests, loved sunsets, ocean
beaches and clever stories. Larry passed on Saturday, October 8, 2017 at the age of 62. He will be missed
