Laura was born on March 17, 1923, in West Englewood, New Jersey, to Theodore and Florence Human. She was the youngest of 5, and survived her sisters Harriett and Helen and brothers Clark and Theodore. Laura attended Hunter College and graduated from Seton Hall. On April 15, 1944, Laura married George W. Brock in the Bronx, New York. They were married for 71 years.
Laura worked at various doctor’s offices and hospitals over her lifetime, but her primary work was as homemaker and Air Force Officer’s wife. Over George’s 30 plus year career in the Air Force, they moved around the country and made close friends wherever they went. Laura’s involvement in the community was too vast to list completely, but her service as a docent at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, her volunteer work with Get Set preschool and with Colorado Springs Ecumenical Services were a few of her most beloved.
Laura leaves behind her devoted husband George, her loving children Susan Lueckenhoff, Steven Brock, and Polly Brock, and their spouses Stephen Lueckenhoff, Mary Jo Brock, and Marty Gregg. She joins her oldest child, Thomas K. Brock (1946-1956). She also leaves her six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter: Brock Vernal, Anthony Vernal, Hayden Brock, Carly Brock, Maxwell Gregg, Nicholas Gregg and Hadley Brock. Laura’s reach was far, and she also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and those she took into her heart as her children
