
Lawrence was born at home in Charleviox County, Michigan on October 1, 1929 to Thomas and Anna Klooster and was the third of five children. His siblings were Margaret, "Bud", "Mae" and Arnold.
Lawrence gained his love of gardening growing up on a farm in Michigan, and joined the army at the age of 17. He served as a combat engineer during the Korean Conflict.
After four years in the Army he returned to his home state of Michigan and worked in a factory. He met his wife, Alma, from Muskegan Michigan, married September 26, 1953. Their two children were born in Michigan prior to their move to Colorado. Lawrence and Alma settled in Denver where he was a labor foreman for Century Construction for over thirty years. In 1985 they moved to Colorado Springs where he continued in construction and watched over his rental properties. He retired from construction in 1989.
Lawrence enjoyed working outside in his garden, woodworking and taking walks in the morning to stay in shape. He was a kind and quiet man who enjoyed helping others without being asked or gaining any recognition.
Lawrence, is survived by his wife Alma of 57 years, son Larry, daughter Ronda, four grandchildren, Karrine, Maureen, Derek and Brett and three great grandsons, Quinn, Quade and Chase all of whom wish him a well deserved rest in the arms of the Lord.
