We celebrate the life of Linda Mulready, who was born on May 18, 1947, but she would tell you 1957. Linda was born in Chicago, Illinois to Arthur and Anne Ford. She has 2 sisters, Judy and Cindy. Linda was a military brat and spent time at various military assignments including North Dakota during her upbringing.
It was in Minot, North Dakota where she met her husband, Michael Mulready to whom she was a devoted wife of 58 years. After more military moves, Linda and Michael found themselves retiring in Colorado Springs, Colorado where they have resided for 45 years.
Linda was a loving mother to Patrick and Kelly, grandmother to Lacario, Bailey, Cailyn and Taryn, Landon, her great son in law and a loving Mother In Law to Gary, whom affectionately called her nana-banana. She adored her nephews and nieces, Rebecca, Matthew M, Matthew E, Jennifer, Jon, Andrew and Albert.
Linda was a well respected flight attendant for 23 years reminding passengers she was there to "save your hiney, not kiss it". Linda's zest for adventure was highlighted by jumping out of a "perfectly good airplane". when she was 44, climbing Pikes Peak at age 54, and indoor skydiving at age 62. Linda enjoyed playing tennis (won a USTA tennis championship at age 59), journalism, photography (including embarrassing pictures of her family) skiing, Mah-jong, an avid jogger, attempted Mtn biking once and could be heard saying "Oh Boy" as she went over the cliff (that ended that hobby), crosswords puzzles and Word with Fiends which she cheated on. She took pride in her gardens, she was a dedicated horse owner to Little Man, enjoyed her chickens (even naming them - Henrietta was her favorite - sorry Dottie), but most importantly, Sunday dinners with family. Her family meant everything to her. Linda had a great sense of humor, a fiery spirit and keen sense of fashion. Linda would do just about anything for anyone she considered a friend and the impact she made of everyone was lasting. Her passing has had a profound impact on her family, especially her dedicated husband Michael, whom remains tethered to her soul. On the early, usually warm and beautiful Colorado morning of February 24th, 2025, an "Oh Boy" could be heard as she made her way to heaven.
