

Linda Porter Snyder, beloved wife and mother, passed away peacefully on December 9, 2015 in Pueblo, CO with her family by her side after a long illness with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). She was born in Lubbock, TX on July 2, 1948, the only child of the late Rudolph and Frances Porter.
Linda graduated from Neville High School in Monroe, LA in 1966. She graduated from Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, LA with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Dietetics in 1970. She was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Medical Specialist Corps, US Army as a Dietitian on June 8, 1970 and was medically retired on June 7, 1973 at Walter Reed Army Medical Center.
Linda's passion was sewing and cooking. She loved vacationing and visiting with family and friends. As her disability gradually worsened over the years, her interests remained high in these passions. Linda resided at her home in Colorado Springs until 2005. In November 2005, she began residing at Rock Canyon Respiratory and Rehabilitation Center, Pueblo, CO, where she remained shortly before her death. Linda always remained positive about her illness and
never complained about her disability. She had a smile that could lighten up a room for everyone whom she knew.
She met her loving and devoted husband, Charlie, while on active duty at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. They were married at the Walter Reed Chapel on August 20, 1971.
She is survived by her husband Charlie and her loving daughter Sara (Patrick) Haedtler as well as many loving cousins.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 15, 2015 from 5:00 - 8:00 pm at Swan Law Funeral Directors, 501 N. Cascade, Colorado Springs, CO with a Funeral Service on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at 11:00 am at First United Methodist Church, 420 N. Nevada Ave., Colorado Springs, CO. A reception will immediately follow the service at the church. A graveside service will be held following the reception at 2:00 pm at Evergreen Cemetery, Colorado Springs,
CO.
