

Lois “Jean” Schwartz, beloved wife, mother, grand-mother and great-grand-mother passed away peacefully on January 5th, 2015 in Colorado Springs, CO. She is a native of Colorado Springs born March 6th, 1922 and was the only child of Fred C. Harris and wife Inez Harris.
Jean graduated from Colorado Springs High School in 1940. After graduation, she worked at the Holly Sugar Building in Colorado Springs as a Switchboard Operator. She was also crowned Miss Army Air Corps 1945 at Camp Carson. She met a handsome young Army Air Corps soldier, Werner Henry “Hank” Schwartz, at a dance in the City Auditorium and six months later they were married at the Colorado Springs First Presbyterian church.
Family and friends were extremely important in her life and she was always game for an adventure. She loved to travel and in the course of her excursions she visited Mexico and Europe (numerous times) not to mention all of the trips within the United States.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her beloved husband “Hank”, loving sons, Larry, Fred and Frank of Colorado Springs, Colorado and devoted daughter, Karen (Schwartz) Hallway, Ann Arbor, Michigan; 7 precious grand-children and 5 great grand-children.
A memorial service will take place at Swan-Law Funeral Home, 501 North Cascade Avenue, Colorado Springs on Saturday, January 10th at 3:00 p.m. A family hosted reception will follow the service at 531 N. Sheridan Ave., Colorado Springs, CO. Private burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Colorado Springs.
