Loretta Fay Ingram, 82, died May 25 after a long struggle with Alzheimer's. She was born to Clarence (Short) Van Buskirk and Myrtle Scrivner, July 20, 1930. Loretta married William Dee Ingram October 1947 and moved first to Lakin, Kansas and later to Colorado Springs. As a girl, Loretta worked in her father's gas station and farmer's exchange. She owned and operated a Dairy King, worked in a grocery store and in retail. She volunteered at Memorial Hospital. But her true calling was as a devoted and selfless wife, mother and friend. She helped raise her little brother when her mother died at a young age. She taught her children kindness, empathy and honesty. She also taught them to sing and dance and laugh. She inspired her husband to do the same.
She is survived by her brother, Gary VanBuskirk, her three daughters, Carlotta Doolittle, Wanda Kastle and Therese Ingram Nissen, her four grandchildren, Brent and Keith Wickham and Jason and Nicholas Kastle and seven great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service to celebrate Loretta's life will be held Saturday, June 1, at 1:00pm at Memorial Gardens, 3825 Airport Road.
