Born on July 5th, 1994, in Colorado Springs, CO, Malinda was the cherished only child of John and Marla Vigil. Throughout her life, she called various places in Colorado home, each one shaping her into the person she became. The experiences she gathered, both joyful and challenging, helped mold her into a woman of deep maturity and understanding.
After graduating from Arapahoe High School in 2012, Malinda pursued a career in customer service, where her innate passion for helping others shone through. Her interest in psychology, reflected in the college courses she took, underscored her commitment to understanding and caring for those around her. Anyone who knew Malinda would speak of her kindness, selflessness, and unwavering determination to shield others from life's difficulties, even when she faced her own.
Family was the cornerstone of Malinda’s life. She loved her parents and brother with all her heart, reserving a special, sacred place for her hero - her mother, whom she lovingly called "Mama." Her love extended to her grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and coworkers, all of whom she held close. And she had a special affection for the family pets - Bruno the dog, Dizzy the cat, and even the chickens, including one she named Ducky.
Malinda is survived by her parents, John and Marla Vigil; her brother, Kenneth Beardemphl; her grandparents, Louis and Corelia Vigil; her beloved May-Ma, Lavern Morrell; as well as many uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
A service to honor Malinda’s life will be held on Thursday, August 29th, 2024, at 4:30 pm MST at Heritage Pentecostal Church, located at 2950 Monica Dr W, Colorado Springs, CO 80916.
