

Margaret A. Cady, beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend passed away peacefully on February 23, 2019, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was born in Gulfport, Mississippi on November 24, 1928, the second of three children born to the late D.C. and Georgia DuBois.
Margaret graduated from Gulfport High School in 1947. After graduation, she served in the United States Navy as a poster girl to help with recruiting. After her stint in the Navy, she married the love of her life, Charles Farris in 1949 and became a Navy wife. Many years after the death of her husband Charles in 1979, she was married again to Gerald Cady and spent five happy years with him until his passing in 2010.
Family was very important to Margaret, and she had many friends during her long and full life. She possessed a quick wit and was always ready with a joke. She lived in many different places around the country over the years and made friends wherever she went.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda L. Reisdorff. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her daughter, Shannon A. Santagate and her husband Jim; her son, Charles E. Farris II and his wife Cheryl; her son, Andrew G. Farris and his wife Dasha; her grandchildren, Drew and Anthony Santagate, Matthew Farris, Jonathan Farris, Vanessa Farris, Erin Gamroth, and Amy Woods; as well as a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services for Margaret will take place Wednesday, February 27, 2019, at 5:00 pm at Swan Law Funeral Home, 501 North Cascade Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado. A reception will follow immediately after at the same location. Private burial will take place at Pikes Peak National Cemetery, Colorado Springs, Colorado.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
