Margaret Figura

Feb. 20, 1921 – Dec. 12, 2011

Margaret Figura was born on 20 February 1921. She was the second child of John Stefan Figura and Marie Janice Figura and the first born in the United States.

She is preceded in death by her father, mother, brothers, Joseph and William, and her sister Matilda, "Tillie" Figura Sunderland. She is survived by an older brother Stefan, a younger brother Robert and her baby sister, Rita Figura Ross.

For most of her life she lived in Polk, PA. Beginning in the 1980's she traveled with a companion, a Sister of St. Francis, to vacation with her sisters, Tillie and Rita, who both lived in Colorado Springs. In December 1994 she came to live with her sister, Rita and her brother-in- law, R. George Ross.

During her many travels in the 80's, 90's and on into the 21st century, she visited many exotic and fascinating places. Just to mention a few, she visited Niagara Falls, The Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima, The Shrine of Our Lady of Snows, and the Monument of Will Rogers. She has been to California, New Mexico, Utah, Nevada, Wyoming, Montana, South Dakota, Mt. Rushmore, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, New York, Idaho, and Oregon. Space does not allow for all of the places she has been in past thirty Years. Her last exiting venture was a drive to the top of Pike's Peak.

A Viewing and Rosary will be held for her at Memorial Gardens, 5- 7 PM on Thursday 15 December. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Divine Redeemer Catholic Church on Friday 16 December at 10:00 AM with interment to follow.
