Marian Florence Erdal

Marian Florence Erdal, age 90, of Colorado Springs, CO, passed away Sunday, April 26, 2026. Marian was born October 21, 1935 in Brooklyn, NY to Walter and Jane Haslam. Growing up in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn was always a source of pride, where she helped out in her father’s deli. Marian graduated from Fort Hamilton High School and SUNY New Paltz. Shortly after, she met and married Rasmus Erdal and enjoyed 64-plus years with him prior to his passing in 2023.

Ras and Marian spent a lifetime traveling, serving, educating, and socializing, and were well known for their organizational skills and exhausting Christmas letters. They enjoyed many years in Baldwin, NY, where Marian was an Elementary School teacher and substitute. The Erdals retired to Fort Collins, CO, where Marian volunteered at the local library, Trinity Lutheran Church, and Sons of Norway.

Marian is survived by two daughters and their husbands, as well as four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and numerous friends.

Marian is preceded in death by her husband Rasmus Erdal, as well as her parents and older brothers.

A memorial service will be held this summer.
