

Marland Larry Meek went to be with the Lord on April 28th, 2023. Marland was born October 7th, 1968, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Marland graduated from Moore, Oklahoma, where he spent most of his childhood. Racing was Marland’s passion. It didn’t matter if it had two, three or four wheels, he knew how to make it go fast. Before the age of 17, Marland had won many races that included the Great American shootout in Dallas, Tx, and the CRA Off Road nationals in both the 200cc and 250cc class in San Francisco. Marland added two national championships to his resume by the time he was 18. After retiring from competition racing, Marland raced RC vehicles to stay connected to the thrill of a racetrack.
Marland had many hobbies that included snowmobiling, snow skiing, camping, fishing and RC competition but none of those ranked higher than spending time with dog Lily, and his family and friends.
Besides racing, Marland invested many hours designing plans and making custom cabinets for many businesses around the U.S.
Marland was saved at a Church camp in Des Moines at the age of 10. He was the son of David Lorren Meek and Sue Ann Meek. Marland was the oldest of two brothers, Shawn Lance Meek and Colby Lorren Meek, son of Windi Denney. Marland is survived by his dad David Meek and Angie Meek, nephew Tyler Meek, niece Brooke Meek Taylor, Uncle Mike Meek, Roy Joe Kimball, Don Kimball, cousins Rodney and Michelle Terry, Robert Meek, Robbie and Jan Meek many more family members, friends and loved ones.
Marland is proceeded in death by his mother Sue Ann Meek, brothers Shawn and Colby Meek, paternal grandparents David and Bonnie Meek, material grandparents Corky and Jonie Kimball.
Services will be held at Memorial Gardens cemetery and funeral home. (3825 Airport Road Colorado Springs, Co. 80910)
Monday May 8th at 2:00 p.m. gravesite service to follow at 3:00 p.m. there will be a celebration of life to follow.
