Mary Alice Friedrich

Mary A. Friedrich, beloved wife, mother and grandmother passed away peacefully on June 24, 2011 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was born in White Bear Lake, Minnesota on August 5, 1927 the second of six children born to the late Frank and Lenore Kassekert.

Mary graduated from White Bear Lake High School. She married Alvin Friedrich February 16, 1952 and has lived happily by his side ever since. She spent her earlier years at home raising a beautiful family. Once the children were grown she worked part time at Hinshaw's Department Store, Juliette's Candies and as a crossing guard, which she thoroughly enjoyed.

Mary had a great sense of humor and a quick wit. She loved playing board games and cards with family and friends. She was a particularly tough competitor when it came to Trivial Pursuit. Mary also loved sports especially football and was always a loyal fan of the Denver Broncos and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Her friends and family will always have fond memories of her sporting team colors and cheering them on in her living room.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, devoted husband, Alvin; loving children, Barbara and Bob Lindsley, Mark and Chris Friedrich, Eric and Martha Friedrich, Julie and Donald Schenck, and Kris and Keith Pacholl; grandchildren, Kevin, Lauren, Dave, Katie, Ashley, Andrew, Jens, Cara, Casey, Jason, and Garrett.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place Friday, July 1, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church, 9 El Pomar Road, Colorado Springs. A reception will be held afterwards at Al's house, 825 Bayfield Drive, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80906.
