Mary was born May 8th, 1937 in New Kensington, Pennsylvania to George and Dorothy Chalfant. She was an AF Veteran and a Retired employee for the State of California, but her greatest accomplishment was being a loving mother to her four children.
She loved to travel and spend time with her family. She especially enjoyed the “spur of the moment” trips along the California coast with her daughters where she would indulge in Dungeness crab, peaches from a roadside fruit stand, and apricots, "especially the apricot bars."
In her later years she and her partner, Michael, moved from California to Colorado Springs, Colorado to be closer to family and enjoy her retirement years.
She is survived by her loving partner, Michael Murphy, three children; Lisa (Michael) Stroud, Theresa Watson, Tony (Carolyn) Ratola, five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son Ronald G. Ratola.
Heaven has gained an amazing angel and the stars will shine brighter for all of us, just knowing she's watching over us.
Take good care of her Ron, because this is not goodbye, but rather see you later. We love you our sweet "Mum," you will forever be cherished and missed.
Services will be private.
Donations can be made to Solaris Hospice of Colorado Springs for the amazing care and support they provided.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.MtViewMortuary.com for the Ratola family.
