Born April 6, 1951 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Clifford R. “Kip” Barraclough and Betty Kelly, Mike grew up in Bethel Park alongside his siblings. Many great memories were shared at the family home on Wyncote Rd. and during summers at Lake Chautauqua, New York.
While in Pittsburgh, Mike met the love of his life, Lorraine, and headed west to Pueblo, Colorado where they began a life and family together. His career in the steel industry eventually took them back east to Huntington, WV, where they raised their family and lived for over 30 years.
Michael was deeply saddened by the loss of his wife of 42 years, in 2015. She was his heart, and his life was never the same without her. In addition to his wife, Michael is preceded in death by his father and mother and his sister Susan, along with many other cherished family members and friends.
Michael is survived by his son Adam and wife Sara, his son Marc and wife Tara, and their daughter Elise, as well as his sister Barbara and brother David. Mike loved his granddaughter dearly and treasured every moment he was able to spend with her.
It was Mike’s fondest wish to make it back to Colorado someday, and he finally did, retiring to Pueblo West in 2021. He loved the view of the Rockies from his home.
In accordance with his wishes, Mike will be cremated and a portion of his remains will be spread upon the mountains, alongside those of his beloved wife. In honor of his memory, donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association. The family asks that you remember him fondly and share stories, as he certainly inspired many of those throughout his life.
