

On August 1, 2011 Michael Blackford, 61, passed away in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was born October 26, 1949 in Dodge City, Kansas to George and Mary Blackford. Michael has been a Colorado Springs resident since the early 1980s.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary K. Hall; survived by his daughter, Cathrine Jones; his father, George Blackford, two brothers, George Blackford and Pat Blackford; sister, Diane Webb; and four grandchildren, Tia, Michael, Eric Jr., and Mariah.
Mike belonged to the Rocky Mountain Pace, where he enjoyed doing arts and crafts, and playing poker with his friends. Mike is remembered for his love of fishing, wittyness and being a wonderful Grandpa.
Mike served in the United States Army in Vietnam with the 55th Combat Engineer Company. He was deployed three times and was decorated.

Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, August 5, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Apostles Catholic Church, Carefree and Oro Blanco, Colorado Springs, Colorado. Graveside services Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at 11:30 a.m., Staging Area 'B' at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver, Colorado.
