

Michele Arlene Brown, beloved wife of Duane Brown, passed away on October 22, 2016, and will be greatly missed. Born on Sept. 21, 1945, in Hibbing, MN to Delbert C. and Arlene F. Gaige, she was raised a military child, with siblings Kathy and Larry. She graduated from Heidelberg High (Germany) in 1963 then moved to Colorado Springs, graduating from Keys Beauty School.
She met the love of her life, Duane Brown, while working at the Post Office. They were together many years before marrying in 1994.
As a young woman, she was briefly married and had three children: David, Tom, and Jodi Davidson. She provided for her three children as a single mother by working tirelessly at: Helen’s Beauty Shop, Kirchner’s Bakery, and the U.S. Postal Service, from which she retired.
Michele welcomed Duane’s children, Duane, Karla, Katie and Darryn, and grandchildren. Her grandchildren (20) and great grandchildren (9) were a great joy in her life, along with gardening, reading, puzzles, and gambling trips. She was dedicated to all her children and they will be eternally grateful for her many sacrifices.
She is survived by: her husband, Duane Brown; sister Kathy Wilshire; sons David and Tom; daughter Jodi (Terry) Menebroker; step-sons Duane Jr. (Lori) Brown and Darryn (Jenn) Brown; step-daughters Karla Parkison and Katie (John) Huffman; and all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Larry.
