

peacefully in her sleep on November 4. She was born in
Marshalltown, Iowa, the third of four children born to Emory
F. and Metha P. Cox. Mildred was a Registered Nurse
who later became a Nurse Practitioner.
She met her husband, Daniel E. Lynch, at Francis E. Warren
Air Force Hospital in Cheyenne, Wyoming and married him six
months later in Marshalltown, Iowa. She was preceded
in death by her parents, three siblings, and one
grandchild. She is survived by her sons Dennis (Judy)
of Mesa, Arizona, Brian of Colorado Springs, and Kevin
(Jane) of Fort Collins, Colorado. She is also survived
by 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Mildred's life was a reflection of her strong Christian
faith. As a nurse, she cared for her patients with
compassion and thought of them as friends. Mildred was
the primary caregiver for her husband, Dan, while she
lovingly cared for him at home during his years long battle
with dementia. She was a terrific role model for her
children and grandchildren. Mildred was a strong,
independent woman who was loving, caring, hardworking,
unselfish, and a good listener. She was always there
to support family and friends. Her grandchildren
fondly remember playing with her in the backyard, going to
the zoo, taking long walks, and spending cherished time with
her.
Viewing will be Monday, November 9 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at
the Swan-Law Funeral Home followed by a rosary.
The funeral will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 10 at Holy
Apostles Catholic Church followed by burial at Memorial
Gardens Cemetery,
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to
Catholic Charities of Northern Colorado or the Springs
Rescue Mission.
