Myra Louise Spain

Myra (Margie) L. Spain, 96 of Security, CO, passed away July 29, 2017 surrounded with her family. Mrs. Spain was born on March 13, 1921 in Alabama. Margie is survived by her son, Robert E. Spain (Nancy) of Central City, daughter, Sarah Rivera (John) of Manitou Springs, grandchildren: Malcolm Spain, Jeremy (Dana) Gill, Cory Gill, Nathan Spain, Patricia Boden, Nicholas Rivera, and Matthew Rivera. Great Grandchildren: Ariel & Savannah Gill, Luchian Spain and Devon, Aiden Gill. She is preceded in death by her husband Robert, daughter Patricia Boden, grandsons Eric Boden and Jerrod Elsemore.

Margie and her husband Robert were one of the original homeowners in the Security area. She was a homemaker with many hobbies, which included her love of reading, embroidery and crossword puzzles. In earlier years you could always find her working in her greenhouse or tending to her roses. She also liked camping and fishing at Blue Mesa Reservoir and had many funny stories to tell of those trips. When talking with her she always had an interesting story of the "old days" which were always fun to listen to.

She was a wonderful mom and grandma and will be dearly missed by all.

A visitation will be held at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Thursday, August 3, 2017 from 9AM to 10AM and Funeral Service will follow immediately at 10AM. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Pikes Peak Hospice, Humane Society or the charity of your choice.
