Neil Hoener a man with a heart of gold, nerves of steel and the countenance of an old west lawman. He ran fast, road hard and loved deeply and abidingly. Neil was a man of dedication, he was dedicated to the law, to his family, to his wife and to his friends.
There is no one you wanted or needed in your corner if Neil was on the job, whether it was as an FBI agent or as a father or as a husband or for an adventureous time.
Neil could be a man on a mission or a daring good time with a quick smirk and a "check this out" look. He was a great judge of character and a fierce protector of those he loved. His sons Chris and Mark and their beloved Erica and Nikki and his granddaughter Harper as well as Francine and her beloved Mark and his other grandchildren Aiden, Annette, Andrew, Adrienne and Abigail and Steven. And his partner in crime and in deep love Vanessa.
Neil looked like the man made of steel but he was ever so tender hearted when it came to his family and friends. He'd offer a bit of guidance, a ray of hope, a prayer for peace, an invitation to do better and a laugh for good measure. He just knew in his heart of hearts who he would hold close and love them in his own special way. And who wasn't worthy of his attention and could and would let you know in his subtle way if you made the cut to the inner circle.
Neil is a faith filled man who is a kind and loving brother, a faith filled devoted to the ends of the earth husband and had faith in his children that they are good and capable people and held great pride on each of them. He was a powerful FBI agent who was an agent of change for good in the world and he was a friend for life.
We will miss how the man of Steel would melt like butter with one loving look from his beloved spitfire Vanessa and how his eyes sparkled when he'd hear her voice or see her coming. We will miss your wry sense of humor, your wicked smarts, your wisdom of the ages and your heart of gold.
We get to hold you in our hearts with all the memories of how you have touched each of us and you are forever and always woven into the fabric of our being.
We hold you in deep honor and deep love the rest of our days. As you make your journey to spirit we ask that you watch over each of us and all of us with your heartfelt devotion. For we are as devoted to you as you are to us.
May the road rise to meet you and the sun be always at your back, always and forever Dearest husband, father, friend and agent of change.
Our beloved Neil,
Deep Peace of the morning sun to you,
Deep Peace to you.
