Nicholas Richard Manyik

Nick was born to John H. and Helen Manyik in a farmhouse north of Ramah Colorado. He was a long time resident of Calhan Colorado, where he grew up and assisted his parents on the farm and ranch. Nick was also a member of the Carpenters Union Local 515, before owning his own carpenter business, and eventually retiring in Calhan where he continued to farm and ranch.

He was a great Husband, Father, Brother, and Zedtho. He also volunteered as the community handyman helper assisting those in need and sometimes just lending an ear or obliging simple conversation – something that Nick was very good at. Nick dearly loved ranching, his large family, and spoiling his many grandchildren.

Nick Manyik was preceded in death by his father John J. Manyik and mother Helen M. Manyik (Palko).

He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Gladys Marie Manyik (Smiley), eight children; Sandy Brazzel (CH Brazzel) of Walters, Oklahoma, Rick Manyik (Marla Dugan) of Calhan, Pamela Sorensen of Wasilla, Alaska, Deborah Manyik of Colorado Springs, Kyle Manyik (Laura Fick) of Ellicott, Brian Manyik of Peyton, Curtis Manyik (Kristine Walker) of Peyton, and Nick S. Manyik (Trish Strickland) of Peyton. Nick was blessed with 20 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren. Nick is also survived by six brothers and sisters; Vera Kopsho of Calhan, Blanche Sedlak of Colorado Springs, Betty Evanoika (George) of Peyton, Junior Manyik (Janie) of Calhan, Earl Manyik (Marcie) of La Junta, Gary Manyik (Kathy) of Fort Collins.

Visitation and viewing will be July 19, 2015 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Swan Law Funeral Directors, 501 North Cascade Ave. Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Funeral services will be July 20, 2015 10:00 am, at Living Word Community Church, 532 Colorado Ave, Calhan, Colorado. Interment will follow services at Calhan Memorial Cemetery.

Immediately following the internment, family and friends are invited to share in a “Sandwich and Conversation” potluck to be held at St. Mary’s Orthodox Church Hall, 19485 North Calhan Highway Calhan, Colorado.
