

Olly was born in Kendangan on the island of Borneo in the Dutch East Indies (now Indonesia). Later, she survived in a Japanese prisoner of war camp on the island of Celebes. Among her numerous work experiences were studying and performing professional ballet, high end fashion modeling, an air hostess on KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, wife of a US Airforce Judge Advocate General, a ballet school owner, director, instructor, and choreographer. She was also a volunteer tour guide and part time tour guide coordinator at the US Olympic Training Center, and was a substitute teacher at various schools in the Colorado Springs area. She held a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Sociology from UCCS and an Associates degree in Commercial Art from the Pikes Peak Community College.
In addition to relatives in the Netherlands, she was preceded in death by her uncle Dirk van Driest in Taos, New Mexico and her son Ivor Young in Colorado Springs. She is survived by her sons Bert Young from Kenai AK and Grant Young in Billings MT. Additionally, she is survived by two grandsons, Sean and Eric, who also live in Montana.
A celebration of life for Olly will be held Saturday, December 18, 2021 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Swan-Law Funeral Directors, 501 North Cascade Avenue, Colorado Springs, CO 80903, followed by a reception from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
