

Oscar Halvorson Jr. was born March 17th 1955 in El Paso, Texas to Oscar Halvorson Sr. and Wanda Black. During his military service, Oscar met his wife Beverly Halvorson. They were married in Colorado Springs, Colorado on May 10th, 1980. Together they lived in Colorado Springs until 1989 and then made their home in Fountain, Colorado. They had one daughter Jessica. Oscar worked for the United States Postal Service until retirement.
As a family, they loved to go camping, Oscar loved working on vehicles and once Beverly inherited a 1967 Chevelle, he took pride and joy in working on the car. He loved going fishing and showing his grandson all the fishing tricks. Oscar was known as Oscar the Grouch and Eeyore due to his demeanor.
Oscar Halvorson is survived by his wife, Beverly Halvorson of 45 years from the family home; daughter, Jessica (Zac) Stonerock of Lamar, Colorado and his best buddy grandson, Dalton Stonerock; sisters, Debbie Clark of Albuquerque, NM and Terry Halvorson (Richard) of Albuquerque, NM; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his fur babies, Elsa and Rhodie.
Oscar Halvorson is preceded in passing by his parents; brother, Ron Halvorson; his best friend, Deb Shearer (Beverly’s sister); and brother-in-law, David Clark.
Oscar struggled with kidney disease for 15 years and diabetes and kept fighting.
A Graveside Service with Military Honors will take place on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at 11:00AM at Pikes Peak National Cemetery, 10545 Drennan Road, Colorado Springs, CO 80925.
