Patricia Ann Kramper Messner died October 2, 2018 at her home in Colorado Springs at the age 83. Pat was born March 16, 1935 in Souix City, Iowa, as the second of four children of Mary Catherine and James Neff Kramper. She grew up on a farm in Dakota County, Nebraska, and graduated from Bishop Heelan Catholic High School in 1952. Pat graduated from St. Catherine University, St. Paul, MN. Continuing her education, she earned her Master’s degree in Speech Pathology, from University of South Dakota, Vermillion, SD. Patricia and her husband, Dr. Milo Messner moved to Colorado Springs in 1965, and shared 50 years together raising their children; Mary Moser, Anne (Pete Wray) Messner, Dr. Michael (Catherine) Messner, Teresa (James) Pohlen, and Julia (Michael) Trombley. Pat was also blessed with thirteen grandchildren: Dylan, (Kayla), Carson, Kyle, and Grant Wray; Mark, Ryan, and Sean Messner; Matthew (Gabriella), Eric, Daniel, and Milo Pohlen; Kara and Renee Trombley. Pat is preceded in death by her husband, Milo Messner and survived by her sisters; Julia Dyra, Kathryn Massey and brother, James (Patricia) Kramper. Pat embraced raising her children with unconditional love and support. She cherished the gifts of her grandchildren and friends with grace and joy.
Visitation will be on Sunday October 14, 2018 from 3:00-5:00 pm at Swan-Law Funeral Home. A celebration mass will be at Divine Redeemer Catholic Church, Monday October 15, 2018 at 11:00 am. Contributions may be made to the Rocky Mountain ALS Association.
