Paula Jo Dosen

Paula Jo Dosen, 71, passed away on February 1, 2026. She is survived by her brother Robert, his wife Ann and their child Chris, and her nephew Jim, his wife Jaala and their children Julia and John. She was born in Trinidad, Colorado to Paul and Mildred Dosen on October 22, 1954. Paula graduated from Aguilar High School and went on to study medicine at the University of Colorado Medical School, graduating in 1981. She completed her anesthesiology residency in '84, beginning her career in Texas and ending it back home in Colorado at Penrose-Saint Francis Hospital.

She split her time between her home in Colorado Springs and the family home in Aguilar. Paula dedicated herself to her beloved pets, who in turn helped carry her through tough times. Through it all, she remained a ray of sunshine to everyone she interacted with. Paula is most remembered for her incredible heart and generous, ever-caring nature. She was genuinely loving to all. Paula was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Mildred, and her brother Jim. Her surviving friends and family know that she has finally found peace and is reunited with those we've lost along the way.

Funeral services will take place at 1 PM Thursday February 12th, 2026 at Swan-Law in Colorado Springs, CO. Internment will be at 1 PM Friday February 13th, 2026 at Trinidad Catholic Cemetery in Trinidad, CO. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Paula's name to one of her favorite organizations, Happy Cats Haven in Manitou Springs.
