

Poise Westerburg Barker, 89, passed away on October 3, 2022. Born to Annabel Daugherty and Posie Barker on July 30, 1933 in Bradley County, Tennessee, Posie was a fun-loving man who worked hard and deeply loved his family. Raised by his grandmother Tennie Shoemaker Baker, he picked tobacco and cotton as a boy on the family farm in Etowah, TN, where he was affectionately known as Binkum/Bink. Then, he served in the United States Air Force for 27 years. Posie was stationed internationally several times and retired as a Chief Master Sergeant in Colorado Springs, CO. Then, he excelled as a top salesman at Ford for 26 years. In retirement, Posie enjoyed cheering on the Broncos, listening to old country music, and having a beer and burger with his many friends. Posie is preceded in death by his first wife Frances Barker, with whom he raised four children and his second wife, Janet Barker, who gave him three step-children and more grandchildren. He is survived by his children Francine Barker, Michael Barker and his children Chris, Jenny, David, Peter, and Jessica; Diana Barker and her children Christina and Brian; and Karen and Bryan McClarty and their children Collin, Morgan, and Benjamin; and many more grand, great-, and great-great grandchildren. Posie will be laid to rest at the National Cemetery in Colorado Springs and a Celebration of Life will be at The Parkway Tavern on October 21st at 2pm.
