Randy Gizzi long time resident of Security and Calhan passed away May 13, 2012 after a 16 year fight with cancer. He was born May 19, 1956 in Price, Utah to Jack and Redia Gizzi. After graduating from Widefield High School, Randy began his life work as a finish carpenter in the residential construction industry. As his battles with cancer forced him from his carpentry trade and stole his independence he focused his attention on his scroll saw work. Over the years, his scroll saw projects simply amazed everyone. Each project became more detailed and complicated. He was a true Bronco fan and loved the piece of land that he lived on just outside Calhan. He enjoyed a laugh, reminiscing about the “old times” and will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Randy was preceded in death by his father Jack. He is survived by his mother Redia (Lewis), her husband Warren of Calhan, brother Lamont, sister-in-law Jeanne, nephew Greg and his wife Kami, niece Randine (Langan) and her husband Ryan, and his very special grandnephews Brody and Landon all of Security. In lieu of flowers, the family would suggest donations to Pikes Peak Hospice. A memorial service will be held on Monday May 21 at 10:00 AM, Memorial Gardens Funeral Home 3825 Airport Road, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80910.
