Raymond E. Starling

Raymond E. Starling, husband, father, grandfather and American hero passed away on July 15, 2013 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was born in St. Joseph, MO May 7, 1951; the oldest of four boys.

Ray grew up in St. Joseph, MO and met the love of his life, Carla, at the age of 16 at the A & W in his ’57 Chevy. After they were married in 1970, Ray served in the Air Force; as a Captain in the Army and as a Captain in the National Guard until 1982, when he entered the insurance industry. He spent the rest of his career as the owner and founder of Starling Insurance and Associates in Colorado Springs, CO.

Family and friends were extremely important to Ray. He loved being at Lake of the Ozarks, and going to car shows with his boys.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, devoted wife, Carla A. Starling; loving children, Kevin (Charmaine) Starling and Ryan (Jenna) Starling; precious grandchildren, Kyle and Rylee; his brother, Bob Starling and a host of wonderful nieces and nephews, including Jeanne Wildhagen Allardyce, Daniel Wildhagen, Jessica Starling and Katie Starling. Ray also has countless friends whom he considered family.

A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Monday, July 22, 2013 at 10:00am at Swan-Law Funeral Directors, 501 N. Cascade Avenue, Colorado Springs. A private family burial is to follow at Ft. Logan National Cemetery.
