Reba G Schmidt joined her heavenly Father on October 3, 2016 in Colorado Springs, CO. She was born in Stilwell, OK, April 28, 1933 to Isaac Taylor and Rebecca Hatfield. After a house fire at age 10, she moved with her family to Vancouver, Washington. She met a fine man in the church choir who became her husband, Edmund J Schmidt, in 1949-they sang in church choir and duets their 54 years of marriage. In 1952 they moved to Sioux City, Iowa where they lovingly raised 4 children. Reba worked retail as clerk/manager of a local Singer Sewing CO and So Fro Fabrics for 32 years. She sewed most of her family’s clothes, then quilts for her grandchildren. She is known for crafts, scrapbooking, and her collections of Boyd Bears and dolls. Reba loved to be with people including children. She spent over 40 years teaching Sunday School to kindergarteners, helped in VBS and Awana. She wants everyone to know the gospel message of Christ. Reba’s smile, laughter and words lit up the room to those she met and knew. In 2008, she moved to Colorado Springs and attended Woodmen Valley Chapel. Loved by survivors: Janice Gillpatrick, Stephen (Donna) Schmidt, and Renée (Ronald) Rains, grandchildren: Jeffery (Loran) Ringgenberg, Jennifer Ringgenberg, Anna Schmidt, Megan(David II) King, Michael Rains, Stefani Rains (Mario) Davidson, Eric Rains and 4 great-grandchildren, David King III, Brianna Ringgenberg, Mason King and Hazel Ringgenberg.
