Rita and I met through homeschooling. She always had a smile on her face and was willing to help in any way she could.   We will miss you, dear Rita!  All my love to your family, especially Lydia and Abby, Bill, and your sister.

So many memories. Rita was my best girlhood friend. We spent many school holidays and summers together with one family or the other - Camping with her family, Otter Lake, trips to the mountains, reading to each other late into the night on sleepovers, making clothes for the Barbie dolls and marrying them off, companions at Bible Conferences, trips to the tent work in Canada.  She was my attendant at my wedding and always thoughtful and encouraging. We have lived far apart in our adult years, but when we did get together we could talk for hours like we had never been apart. Even after she was sick, she was always bright and cheerful when I got to see her.  She will be missed. Goodbye dear sister, until we meet again in the presence of our Savior.

We weren't blessed to know Rita for very long.  We didn't know her until our son, Jim, fell in love with her niece, Lydia.  It was easy to like Rita as soon as you met her.  To us, it was obvious that she loved her Lord, loved her family (including animals) and loved you too!  It was difficult to remember that Rita was indeed so ill.  She was always full of life and enjoyed everyone around her.  Since we live in Nebraska, we didn't get to see her often, but always hoped that when we came to Colorado Springs, she would be an enjoyable part of our visit.  Sometimes in life, you meet people and feel like you are a better person for having known them.  For us Rita will always be one of  those special people.  Rita, we look forward to seeing you again.

Aunt Rita loved the zoo! My love for animals and the zoo was fostered by her. She taught us to sit and talk to each animal. I still talk to animals! I will always think of Aunt Rita when going to a zoo! 🐒🐅🦓🦒🐘🦏🐧🐢🦇🦆

I met Rita thru our cancer support group - her and her husband, Bill. She was one of the most kindest people I have ever known. She always had such concern & love for all of us. Rita checked in on me, even as she was struggling herself. I enjoyed every moment that I was blessed enough to spend with her....from visiting at our meetings, going out to lunch, seeing her in the hospital, sharing time with her & her grand-doggie. She had so much love in her heart. We love you. Loving thoughts & prayers for all of her loved ones. - Kelly & Kim  

Rita's nieces & nephews were her family while we were raising ours.  She was so close to them and favored them with time and gifts.  
The Lord blessed her with husband and child and she doted on them.
Pippin was always in her lap at meeting.
She touched our hearts by her care, interest, sympathy, and thoughtfulness in our families.
I'm wearing the zip wool sweater which she passed on to me.  She remembered my cold blood!
Her tenderness will be missed.
