Ronald James Harris, 67, passed away on Saturday, March 16th, 2019 in Centennial, Colorado. The first child of James and Shirley Harris, he was born on the 15th of July 1951, followed a few years later by his brother John. Ron lives on through his two sons: James and Jonathan Harris.
Although Ron was born in Yakima, Washington, he grew up in Colorado Springs where he graduated from Roy J. Wasson High School in 1969. After graduation, he attended the University of Colorado and earned his Bachelors of Pharmacy in 1974. Ron proceeded to establish a 47-year career with Walgreens, where he wore many hats besides just that of the Pharmacist. In his words, “[after] having done just about every job with the stores, I can say the only thing I haven’t done is to sell cosmetics in a skirt.”
Ron spent his free time coaching James’ hockey teams, skiing with his family, and teaching his sons to golf, fish, camp, and appreciate the little things in life. He left a lasting mark on the lives of everyone he encountered, and will be cherished and remembered lovingly.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, March 22nd, 2019 between 3:00 and 5:00pm at Swan-Law Funeral Home, 501 N. Cascade Avenue, Colorado Springs.
