

Ron was born on July 13, 1946, in Toledo, Ohio. He graduated from Cathedral High School , Belleville, IL in 1964 and Rockhurst College, Kansas City, Missouri, in 1968 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. After graduation, Ron began his career with the IRS in Kansas City before being drafted into the United States Army and serving in Vietnam achieving the rank of Sergeant. After Vietnam, he returned to his career with the IRS.
In 1971, Ron married Patti Wood and they welcomed daughter Stephani the same year. Their second daughter, Courtney arrived in 1974. In 1976, Ron and family were transferred with the IRS to Round Rock, Tx. Ron became active in the community through the Round Rock Soccer Association, Service to Mankind (SERTOMA), coaching his daughters’ softball teams and membership in their local Lutheran Church. Although the marriage ended, he and Patti remained devoted to their daughters.
His professional career concluded with over 25 years of service to the State of Texas MHMR, at locations in Austin, Port Arthur, and Mexia. Ron then began his retirement chapter with a move to Colorado Springs, in 2014 where he joined First Lutheran Church, American Legion Post 209 and the local VFW chapter. He was also involved in the Gleneagle SERTOMA club. His SERTOMA membership lasted 4 decades, where he was the governor of 3 districts, local chapter officer and was named the National Sertoman of the Year in 2018.
In 2010, Ron achieved the status of Grandfather, with the birth of grandson, Andrew. He enjoyed this title, immensely.
Ron was a devoted father, grandfather, and brother and is preceded in death by his parents Ronald F. Luebben Sr. and Gertrude Luebben, and sister Sarah “Sally” Mullen. He is survived by his daughters, Stephani Luebben, Courtney Luebben, and grandson Andrew; sisters Gertrude Lynes, Kathy Lupold, brothers Tom Luebben, and Bill Luebben (Becky), and numerous nieces and nephews. He will also be missed dearly by his Sertoma and Church families in Texas and Colorado and by all those lives that he touched.
There will be a memorial on November 4, 2023, at the American Legion Post 209, 3613 Jeannine Dr, Colorado Springs, CO 80917 at 5:00 pm. Graveside burial with military honors will be at the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Mo at a date to be determined.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Gleneagle SERTOMA – Scholarship Endowment, SERTOMA International, or an organization of your preference.
