She was born on June 2, 1944 in Washburn, Wisconsin; though she spent her childhood and youth in Garden City, KS.
Sandra graduated from Bethany Nazarene College now known as Southern Nazarene University in Oklahoma, with a BA in Education.
In 1976 she started teaching in Monterey Elementary School and for many years taught in Oak Creek Elementary School in Harrison School District 2 in Colorado Springs; where she retired in 1999.
In the last 20 years Sandra was involved in different Bible study groups in the Colorado Springs community, as a leader. For many years she put her energy and passion serving Focus on the Family as volunteer.
Sandra’s passion was Jesus, her family, friends, and her country.
Sandra is survived by her husband of 27 years, Val Petrov, in Colorado Springs and her sister, Elizabeth McGraw and her family who all live in Garden City, KS.
