Sister Frances Sedlacek

Sister Frances was born July 31, 1948, in Omaha, NE. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Frances Roza, baby sister, Marie, and brother Victor. She is survived by her brothers Thomas, Don, Bob and Joe, her sisters Mary and Linda.

Sister Frances received her BA in Education, majoring in Physical Education and Math at Wayne State College, Wayne, NE in 1972. In 1979, she received a BS in Elementary Education with Middle School endorsement from Chadron State College. In 1982, Sister received a MS in Counseling from Creigton University, Omaha, NE.

Sister Frances entered our Franciscan Community in Colorado Springs on September 5, 1976. She made final vows on August 2, 1983. This was Sister’s Golden Jubilee year.

Sister’s teaching experience as a religious was at Scotus Jr. High School in Columbus, NE and St. Pauls’s School in Colorado Springs. CO. Sister Frances ministered in the community as Canonical Treasurer, Council and Corporate Board Member, Vocation Directress, Companion Co-Director and as a Board Member for Women Partnering.

The Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on March 2nd at 10:30 am, in St. Francis of Assisi Church, followed by burial in the Mount Saint Francis Cemetery.
