Sue Ellen Cheney

Sue Ellen Cheney, 64, of Falcon, Colorado, passed away on February 14, 2011. Sue was born in Gary, Indiana on August 5, 1946 to Charles and Edwina (Rice) Smith. While attending college she married Greg Cheney and together had two children.

Sue was a woman of faith, centering her life around Jesus Christ. She was the embodiment of a true Christian.

In her spare time, Sue enjoyed spending time with her five grandchildren; playing numerous games and taking many trips with them and her husband. She always made herself available to them up to and including the last week of her life. Sue was always generous and put other people before herself. Everybody that met her enjoyed her outgoing spirit. She had friendships all over the United States that were extremely important to her.

Sue is survived by her parents, Charles and Edwina Smith of Eddyville, Kentucky; beloved husband, Greg Cheney of Falcon; son, David (Janette) Cheney of Falcon; daughter, Vicki Sue (Kevin) Morgan of Colorado Springs; brothers, Bill and David Smith of Las Vegas, Nevada; and grandchildren, Jimmy, Noah and Abbie Cheney, Joshua and Melissa Morgan.

Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 PM, Thursday, February 17, 2011 at Swan-Law Funeral Home, 501 N. Cascade Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80903. Interment will be at 2:30 PM, Friday, February 18, 2011 at the Calhan Cemetery, Calhan, Colorado. A Celebration of Life will follow at 5:30 PM, Friday, February 18, 2011 at the Swan Law Cascade Chapel, 501 N. Cascade Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado.
