Teresa Clemans passed away unexpectedly, leaving behind a family, friends, and so many people who loved her deeply. She was born in Sunnyside, Washington and carried a vibrant spirit with her everywhere she went.
As an army brat, Teresa grew up in many different places. Two that meant the most to her were Washington and Bamberg, Germany. Those experiences helped shape the strong, adaptable, and spirited woman everyone knew and loved. She shared an especially close bond with her sisters, Julie (husband Steve and son Joel) and Nicole (husband Chris), a connection she treasured her entire life.
Teresa and Tom shared 22 years of marriage, building a life full of love, laughter, loyalty, and family, and wonderful friends. Although, that loyalty would probably be tested if Matthew McConaughey ever walked through the door.
She was a proud mom to Neika, Trevor, and Izzy (husband Jeremy), but one of her favorite roles in life was being “Whela” to her five grandbabies: Kyson, Kieryn, Jude, Easton, and Ralph. They brought her endless joy, and she loved them with her whole heart.
Teresa also had a legendary love for dogs, especially Dachshunds. Her first was Odie, followed by Isa, Jaxxon, Tiny Tim, Maya, and Coco. They were family to her and, if we’re being honest, there were definitely times they often outranked her human children. She loved them fiercely and spoiled them often. Teresa often volunteered her time to Denver Dachshunds Rescue, helping to find loving families for dachshunds in need of homes.
She loved to listen to music, especially live music. We lost count of how many Heart concerts she went to, from her very first concert at the age of twelve to the last concert she went to only a few weeks ago. She also relished traveling (cruises, please!), making memories, and spending time with the people she cared about most. Teresa loved hard, stayed loyal to her friends, and built deep friendships that lasted for years. She had a way of making people feel welcome, comfortable, and cared for.
A celebration of Teresa’s life will be held on May 5, 2026, at 2:30 p.m. at Broadmoor Community Church (315 Lake Ave, Colorado Springs, CO 80906). Anyone who would like to celebrate her life is welcome. In true Teresa fashion, please wear whatever makes you comfortable and choose colors as vibrant as she was.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Teresa’s name to Denver Dachshunds Rescue and Transport, another local dog rescue organization, or the American Heart Association.
Teresa was taken too soon, but the love she gave, the laughter she brought, and the memories she created will stay with everyone who knew her. She will be missed beyond words and remembered always.
