Thomas Michael Flaherty

Tom left this earth peacefully surrounded by his family and went joyfully to heaven to be with Jesus Christ his Lord and Savior on August 11, 2023, at the age of 80.

Tom is preceded in death by his wife Joan Flaherty, parents Joseph and Anna Flaherty, brother Joseph Flaherty, sister Eileen McDowell. Also Children Philip Fortner and Jeffery Forner.

Survivors children included, Eileen MacPhail, husband Malcolm,Dawn Evans, husband David,Sean Rowe, wife Rachel, Tonya Striedieck, husband Vince,Michael Flaherty, wife Karen. Also, by Sixteen grandchildren.

Tom was born in Philadelphia Pennsylvania. He graduated from Saint Vincent Catholic school. After graduating high school, he joined the Air Force at age 17. He served in the Air Force for 26 years. He received many commendations, including the Bronze Star. He was a decorated Veteran. After retiring from the Air Force, he became an over the road truck driver for five years. He was then hired by the USPS for two years. His last employment was with the city of Colorado Springs. After retiring from the city, he and his wife Joan enjoyed camping, fishing, traveling, spending time with family, going to church and Bible study. A highlight was their European vacation. He was a devoted reader. In Tom’s later part of life, he dedicated himself to studying and share the gospel. Though he will be missed by love ones, Tom, will live eternally in heaven.
