

Viola graduated from Lyons High School, class of 1955. Following graduation she worked as a scrub nurse in the operating room. In September of 1957 she married the love of her life, Alvin Holling, They were married for 55 years before Alvin passed in 2011. After she and Alvin started having kids she was a stay at home mom and an extra pair of hands to work on the family farm. She and Alvin raised five kids together and enjoyed their time with their large family. Both were very active members in the Colorado Springs Polka Club.
Viola was a sparky woman that proved what it meant to be a powerful woman. She had a love for her family and always cherished the time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. In her later years she showed her fun side by joining her family on camping trips and participating in water aerobics. She even adopted a rescue dog named Leah that she spoiled for years.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Alvin Holling (2011), her youngest daughter Betty Holling (2001), and her sweet puppy Leah (2019). Surviving still include her four children: Gene Holling, Jan Whitehead, Dale Holling, and Gayle Reed. Her older sister Genevia Kluck who lives in Sioux Falls, SD. In addition to her eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
A service of remembrance will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 7th at Memorial Gardens in Colorado Springs, 3825 Airport Road, CO 80910.
