

Wanda Lee Haynes, 95 of Colorado Springs, passed away on April 15, 2022, after a brief illness. Born in Amarillo, Texas, Wanda married Robert Marion Haynes, also from Amarillo, in 1945 upon his return from WWII. Bob’s career as a USAF-JAG took them to assignments in Texas, Alaska, England, Washington D.C., and Colorado Springs. In addition to raising three children, Wanda was an active member of Baptist churches, a Scouting volunteer, and pursued educational and civic activities at each location. She was a medical secretary from 1966 until retirement.
A devout Christian, Wanda lived a life of service and support to family and others. She is survived by: daughter Kathy Cable and son John Haynes; sister Sue Daniels; six grandchildren Jennifer, Laura, Kelsey, Robyn, John, and Brian; seven great-grandchildren Gabriel, Kathryn, Rylee, Jordan, Ayden, Maggie and Milo; and one great-great-grandchild Leighara. Wanda was predeceased by her husband, Col. Robert Haynes, son Robert Marion Jr. (Vietnam) and sister Sharon.
Viewing will be at Swann-Law on April 25, 4-8pm followed by a graveside service at Evergreen Cemetery at 3pm on April 26. Family suggests memorial contributions in lieu of flowers to Springs Rescue Mission or a charity of choice.
