

Willard Joseph Karcher III, 72, beloved son, husband, father and grandfather, passed away suddenly in his home on Monday, August 30, 2021 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was born July 7, 1949, in Denver Colorado. He is the eldest son of Willard Jr. and Lila Karcher.
Will graduated from George Washington High School in Denver in 1967. He attended the University of Southern Colorado before beginning work at CF&I in Pueblo. He met and married his beloved wife, Dorothy, in 1978. Will began his career at Colorado Springs Utilities in 1984, retiring in 2009. He worked part-time during his retirement.
Will was devoted to his family, friends, and Daisy the family dog. He was a lifelong fan of the Broncos and he was second to none in his fantasy football league. He loved the outdoors and spent his youth hiking and mountain climbing. He enjoyed poker and trips to Cripple Creek.
His generosity, sense of humor and outgoing nature left an impression everywhere he went and with everyone he met. Will had many wonderful friends and he never knew a stranger. His shoes can never be filled.
Will is predeceased by his mother Lila and his brother Craig. He is survived by his wife Dorothy, his father Bill, His brothers Kim and Cary (Pam), his children; Steve (Bobbie), Carrie (Jeff), Kristin, Eric, Joshua (Lisa), Billy (Yvonne) and grandchildren; Bethany, Rachel, Grace, Joe, Julia, Curtis, Erica, Hannah, Nathan, Alysia, and Lily.
The service will be held Sunday, September 12 at 3:00pm at Swan-Law Funeral Directors Colorado Springs, Colorado.
