William S. (Bill) Brown of Colorado Springs, CO passed away on January 28, 2018 after a struggle with Alzheimer’s and cancer. Bill was born on December 10, 1938 in Durant, Oklahoma and his life was filled with many remarkable stories that will be cherished by his family. He was inducted into the Oklahoma Sports Hall of Fame for his participation on the 1956 Frederick Bombers football team, he played with the University of Oklahoma Sooners in the 1959 Orange Bowl, and he helped thousands of people rebuild their lives after storms and other losses throughout his career with State Farm Insurance. Bill’s focus, however, was not on these achievements but was rather on his family. Every step of the way, he made his decisions based on what he felt would be best for those that he loved. He will be sorely missed by his three children - Rebecca Gremillion of Dallas, TX, Stephanie McGuffin of Colorado Springs, CO, and Eric Brown of Colorado Springs, CO - and his two grandchildren - Paige Gremillion and Michael William McGuffin. His family will especially miss his genuine nature, passion for caring, and keen Yahtzee skills. Services will be held at Monument Community Presbyterian Church on February 17th, 2018 at 11:30am. In lieu of flowers, the family would request donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association using the following link:
