William Rice (Bill) Brummett, 81, was born in Denver, CO, on August 13, 1944, to William Albert and Mary Frances Brummett. He passed away in Colorado Springs on Easter Sunday, April 5, 2026, from multiple health issues.
Bill grew up as the eldest of three boys in Pueblo, CO, where he attended Ascension Episcopal Church and worked as a lifeguard at Pueblo Country Club. He graduated from Centennial High School in 1962 and was a three-sport athlete there. He later played basketball for two years at Pueblo Community College and then earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Southern Colorado State College (now CSU Pueblo). He also served in the U.S. Army Reserve.
Professionally, Bill became involved in growing two businesses founded by his father, Telephone Secretarial Services and Air Page, in both Pueblo and Colorado Springs. He was part owner and principal executive of both businesses. Once those businesses were sold, he became a sales associate for RMRM Business Environments where he worked until his death.
An active participant in the Colorado Springs community where he lived most of his adult life, Bill was a member of the Colorado Springs Executives Association, the El Paso Club, Pikes Peak Sertoma, and the Garden of the Gods Club where he enjoyed playing tennis for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Mary McCullum Brummett, who was the love of his life. He is survived by his younger brothers Jim Brummett (Nancy) of Colorado Springs and Tom Brummett (Rina) of Philadelphia, and by a bunch of nieces and nephews.
Donations in Bill's memory should be made to the charity of one's choice. The family will host a celebration of life at a later date.
