Armida Torres was born in the little town of Heber, CA on March 8th, 1931 to Joaquin and Rafaela Torres. She was the baby of the Torres Family and well taken care of by older sister Rosa, and older brothers Arthur, Hector, and Gilbert. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in Los Angeles. In 1950 she married the "Love of her Life" Richard Talamantes, a U.S. Marine.
Five children were to follow; Margo, Richard, Corinne, and her "Twinkies", Conrad and Vivian. They raised their family in Commerce, CA. In 2001 Richard and Armida moved to Moreno Valley to be closer to their kids and grandkids. Armida absolutely loved her new house on the hill with a view of the valley below and the gorgeous orange sunsets.
Armida was proud of being a Torres. She was a diehard Dodger fan passing that passion on to her kids and grandkids. She "educated" her kids and grandkids on the real music in her life, Mariachi music.
Armida loved camping especially by the beaches of Mexico and California. Autumn was her most favorite season. Armida was a devout Catholic and dedicated to "Our Lady of Perpetual Help" throughout her entire life.
Armida was preceded in death by her son Conrad, and most recently in February of this year by her loving husband Richard. They were married for 61 years. She is survived by children; Margo, Richard, Corinne, and Vivian. Sixteen grandchildren; Manuel, Matthew, Marcel, Gabriel, Michelle, Nicole, Violet, Armando, Adam, Aaron, Abraham, Sabrina, Katie, Conrad, Joseph, and Timothy. Eight Great-grandchildren; Maximillion, Emily Ann, Ayla, Dorian, Kiana, Maya, Ameer, and Armando.
Armida's greatest joys were in her "Perfect" grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
