

Tino, was born in San Bernardino, CA on September 5, 1931 to Bernardino and Maria Castillo. He was a decorated serviceman for the U.S. Navy, which include 3 tours in The Korean War aboard the USS Blue. After serving his country, he continued to serve as a civilian Heavy Equipment Technician at the Marine Corp Logistics Base in Barstow and Port Hueneme Naval Base in Oxnard, until his retirement in 1986. He took great pride in working with the Seabees.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Eleanor, son Richard, daughter Marcia Castillo La Joie, 5 grandchildren, including Timothy and Paul La Joie, 2 great grandchildren, sister Julia Ruiz (Manuel), sister Mollie Gradias, sister Lucy Colunga (William), brother Louie (Rachel), sister Anna Baeza (Joe), brother Danny (Sonia), sister Carol Mastas (Gene), sister Mary Fishering (Peter) and many nieces, great nieces, nephews and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernardino and Maria, and brother John.
A memorial service will be held at Montecito Memorial Park on February 1, 2018, 10 a.m. at Valley View Chapel, interment immediately following.
