December 11,1939 – February 3, 2026
Hemet, Ca.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Betty Maxwell, age 86 who went home to our Lord on Feb. 3rd. She passed peacefully in her sleep at home.
Born on Dec. 11th in Milwaukee, WI to Elaine Weisheit and Wilbur Dodson, she came to California her senior year of high school to live with her grandparents, Tony and Pauline in Highland Park. It is here that she met her husband Boyd at Franklin High School, and after a drive-in proposal they were married March 23, 1958. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. Family was always important to her and she was there in both good times and bad. She had a way of making life long friends of most people she met or worked.
She was a self made worker who learned tax preparation along side her grandfather and eventually took over his business. At the same time she learned to be a bookkeeper and a certified property manager in which she retired in her 60s continuing to do taxes until she was 80.
Betty is survived by her husband, Boyd, daughter, Debbie, grandson Matt, brothers John, Richard, Jim, Chet and sisters Sue and Bonnie, all who will miss her forever.
Services will be on Monday February 23rd at 1 pm at the Cypress Chapel 24145 Barton Rd. Loma Linda, Ca with graveside services at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Cemetery next door at 2:30 pm. Small reception at dad's home after. May her beautiful heart rest in peace.
