

Blanche Irene Betten passed away peacefully in Kilgore, Texas. She was preceded in death by William, her loving husband of 51 years. Blanche was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be fondly remembered by her three sons, Bill II (Joni), Doug (Mary), Mike (Lisa). Nine grandchildren - David (Peggah), Kristi (Christian), Josh (Maddie), Rebecca (Greg), Jason (Melissa), Kenny (Cassandra), Joe (Jessie), Laurina (Erik), Lucas, and many great-grandchildren.
Blanche was born in Atlanta, Kansas. She went to school in central Illinois where she began a teaching career. Bill and Blanche moved to California in 1957 and eventually had several restaurants in Orange County, and then in Green Valley Lake, before moving to San Bernardino. They later opened an ice cream parlor in Redlands with their son, Mike. In all of their endeavors they were well known for good food, with fun and neighborly service. Blanche was a tutor at St. Adelaide School and a volunteer at the Perris Hill Senior Center for many years. Blanche and Bill loved travelling and visiting friends and family in their RV. They also enjoyed many trips to Hawaii.
Blanche had a positive impact on many people in her long lifetime. We will remember her with gratitude for her strength, generosity, patience, and understanding.
Blanche will be laid to rest alongside her beloved husband. There will be a celebration of her life at Cypress Chapel, Montecito Memorial Park in Loma Linda, at 5pm on February 27th. The funeral service will be at St. Adelaide Church in Highland at 10am on February 28th.
